Associate Director, Faculty-in-Residence Program
Sylvia Turner is from Memphis, TN and moved to Atlanta, GA where she completed her undergraduate and graduate education. Dr. Turner received her bachelor’s degree in Social Policy from Agnes Scott College and her master’s and Doctorate degrees in Sociology from Emory University. Dr. Turner started her career in higher education at Emory University as an Assistant Director in the Office of Undergraduate Education before coming to UT where she served first as the Assistant and later as the Associate Director for the Haslam Scholars Program before moving to First-Year Programs.
