Describe the university of Tennessee in one word: Community
What excites you the most about being a Peer Mentor? I am always really excited about helping students find their niche on campus and seeing them thrive when they've found it.
Why do you think FYS 101 courses are important? It's not only a great way to get to know the other students in the class, but it is one of the best ways to get connected with a more experienced UT student, a faculty member, and the resources on campus.
What is your favorite activity to do in Knoxville? Either volunteering with dogs from the Young-Williams animal shelter (Doggie Day Trips are so fun!) or Boo at the Zoo in October.
What is your go-to snack food? Flavor Blasted Goldfish
Give your best piece of advice for first-year students: Give yourself a little time: Friends don't happen magically. Classes don't get easier without effort. Navigating campus doesn't happen overnight. During the first year, a lot of changes happen quickly, so you need to give yourself time to adjust and adapt.
