The Office of First-Year Studies (FYS) is looking for passionate and dedicated student leaders who wish to serve in the premier leadership role within the FYS 101 program. The PMC serves to improve the experience of the FYS 101 Peer Mentors and aims to increase the overall value of FYS 101. As a leader within the program the PMC is expected to act as a role model to their peers and exemplify what it means to be a student leader within FYS 101. The PMC will serve as a paid position and they will be responsible for fulfilling their assigned duties to their fullest ability. The PMC will serve in the position for one year and throughout their experience will have the ability to benefit their peers and the program by engaging with social programming, leadership development, recruitment, interviewing, selection, and course facilitation amongst other duties. All returning Peer Mentors are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to positively impact their peers, the FYS 101 program, and their own experience at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
- The student must be enrolled as a degree seeking undergraduate student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with an anticipated graduation date no earlier than May, 2017
- The student must be currently serving as a returning Peer Mentor
- The student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75
- The student must be in good judicial standing with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville
