In this book club, students will pick a young adult (YA) novel to read and discuss weekly, exploring such themes as coming-of-age/growing up, identity and personal agency, friendship, responsibility, and taking social action.

A former high school English teacher, Dr. Groenke has been reading and teaching young adult literature for over 20 years. She teaches courses on young adult literature at UT, and directs the Center for Children’s and Young Adult Literature, located in Hodges Library.
