Superheroes & US Society

Meeting timeCRNSession
Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:10PM-3:25PM 51526First

Superheroes are one of the USA’s original contributions to world culture. They have also been likened to a modern mythology. In this class, we look at the origins of these characters and then at how they have evolved over the decades. We will read some original works, watch various media versions, including movies, cartoons, and television programs in order to examine what makes superheroes tick and also how they reflect us and our world.
