Tennessee is home to the most fatal tornadoes in the world. This seminar will discuss the climatology of tornadoes in Tennessee and their public safety issues. Weekly topics will depend on student interest, but will likely include: types of storms causing Tennessee tornadoes, the daily and seasonal timing of Tennessee tornadoes, and public perception of their risk to tornadoes.
